You sure? Its been a few years, but when I read the novel, Nie Li did not know in his past life that Ning'er was the masked woman (with horrible scars on her face). She knew he was Nie Li and loved him in her past life, but I don't recall that anything ever actually happened to the two of them romantically.

In this life, in the future, where the novel was at a few years ago, Nie Li personally announced both of them were his wives and he told their sect leader in the other world. I recall Nie Li was gathering all the righteous sects to fight against the evil sect and the big bad guy.

But the author couldn't even be bothered to update once a month and spent all his time on Star Martial God, which was pretty good, but I think TDG was better.

So I got frustrated along with everyone else and gave up on this novel.

Nei li had the revelation this time around after he saw a scar on ning'ers back that was the same as the masked womens when he was helping her with cultivation, the reason ning'er was getting flashes of her previous life with nei li is because of the page of the temporal book that was hidden within that scar, this is why she dedicated herself to him for life and will follow as his shadow and fight beside him. But even ziyun started to have those flashes about the citizens of glory city dying during their journey through the desert, not sure how the author explained it but ziyun knew there was something familiar with nei li. I think it starts when nei li goes looking for the temporal book in the desert and its gone, currently in the series I think nei li has set off for his adventure and is about to find the fire goddess and the other humans living in the on the plateau for which he had knowledge about from his previous life and brings them back to strengthen glory city.

I stopped reading after they returned to glory city from the draconic ruins realm, and brought all the citizens to the draconic ruins realm updates were to slow lol.

I know, I know, I like Ning'er too but....and this is Not a spoiler since it was mentioned very early on...but do recall that in their past life Ziyun was far more powerful than Nie Li who was just a noob when Glory City was destroyed. Ziyun lead the refugees out of the city and tried to take them to a place of safety somewhere in the wilderness...but there just isn't any. There were hundreds if not more. Little by little they were killed off as they escaped from place to place until finally there was only Ziyun and Nie Li. They finally fell in love, being the only two survivors. They had their own private wedding and were married and lovers. Then Ziyun died after saving Nie Li's life countless times. Even though, in his past life, Nie Li lived for hundreds of years after that and eventually became a supreme powerhouse, he has always had that sadness over what happened with his wife Ziyun. So, don't look at Ziyun now as this useless thing. Nie Li will NEVER look at Ziyun that way.
